Liesbeth Zegveld and Lisa Komp have initiated civil proceedings against a congregation which is part of the Catholic Church on behalf of Arnold-Jan P. As an eleven-year-old he was sexually abused by one of the fathers of the congregation. More recently, Arnold-Jan P. discovered that the congregation was aware of the fact that the father abused children and had failed to take measures to prevent further abuse. In these proceedings Arnold-Jan P. claims damages for the suffering caused by the ommission of the congregation and the loss of income he has suffered as a result. An elaborate account of his story can be found (in Dutch) via this link.
