Liesbeth Zegveld and Lisa Komp have issued a writ of summons to two commanders of the Isreali Defence Forces on behalf of a Palestinian-Dutch client. The client lost six family members, when his family home was destroyed during an armed attack by Israel on Gaza in Juli 2014. The attack violated international humanitairan law, because the Israeli Defence Forces did not take sufficient measures to avoid civilian casualties. The Palestinian client holds the two commanders in question liable because they are responsible for the design of the policy to attack civilian residences in general, as well as for the attack on his family's home in particular. The District Court of The Hague will take up the case in June 2018.

A documentary about the bombardement of the Ziada residence can be found here.
