The district court of Rotterdam has today acquitted all nine suspects of alleged preparation of terrorism in Eindhoven. The prosecutor had asked for a four year sentence against the prime suspect, whom was represented by Tamara Buruma.

The verdict discusses in some detail the legal requirements of the crime of preparation and the crime of training for terrorism. Somewhat surprisingly, the court did not use the findings of a deradicalization expert. He had found our client to be against terrorism and against terrorist organizations. However, the Court could already conclude our client did not adhere to a jihadist ideology without the use of this report.
