On behalf of victims of the terror organisation Al Nusra Front, Liesbeth Zegveld and Lisa Komp have issued a notice of liability to Qatar for the damages suffered at the hands of the terror organisation. Al Nusra Front is one of the parties fighting in the Syrian civil war and is internationally considered to be a terrorist organisation. The terrorist organisation has committed human rights violations on a large scale by abducting, torturing and killing civilians. An important part of Al Nusra Front’s financing is channelled through Qatar. The country has allowed organizations presenting themselves as charity funds to collect money for Al Nusra Front, it has allowed its citizens to make donations to the terrorist organisation and it regularly pays ransoms to Al Nusra Front thereby supporting terrorist organisation’s actions. In a letter sent on behalf of Al Nusra Front victims now living in the Netherlands Liesbeth Zegveld and Lisa Komp call upon Qatar to establish a fund for the payment of damages to Al Nusra Front victims.

Media reports on the issue have been published in the Dutch newspaper the Volkskrant, in the National, and in The New York Times.

Furthermore you can see an interview by the Arabic news channel Al Arabiya by Liesbeth Zegveld in English here.
