Since March of this year, it is possible for the government of the Netherlands to withdraw Dutch citizenship in the interest of national security. This week, Stef Blok, the Dutch Minister for Security and Justice, did just that with regard to four persons who are said to have joined a terrorist organization abroad.

According to professor Hans Ulrich Jessurun d'Oliveira, advisor at Prakken d'Oliveira, it is unlawful to take away the nationality of jihadi's.
