Amsterdam, 26 November 2013 - "It is regrettable that African states have lost their confidence in the International Criminal Court. The Court protects the victims of the most serious crimes imaginable and guards human rights", said lawyer Göran Sluiter at a conference in Senegal on the International Criminal Court, Africa and Senegal.

The conference aims to address the issue of growing concern among African states and the African Union about the International Criminal Court. The Court is criticised for putting too much emphasis on the prosecution of African politicians.
